Children's Groups

The teachers have a vision and heart motivation to introduce children to Jesus and make them disciples of the One who came to be their Saviour and Lord.

Jesus said "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commended you."

We meet in three groups:

Lambs, Kidzone and GiG (Growing in God) as below.

The whole congregation meets together for worship and prayer before the children depart for their programmes.

Lambs - from birth to 4 years

The area for Lambs, which is sectioned off in the church foyer, is a favourite gathering place for children of all ages. It is furnished with a play house, blocks, play-dough, a tea set, story books, a chalk board and toys.

We follow a curriculum written especially for pre-schoolers by the "Children's Bible Ministries."

Kidzone - for ages 5-10 years

Kidzone meets at the back of the church hall and also follows the curriculum written by the "Children's Bible Ministries". We sometimes bake for and serve morning tea to the congregation, or bake and pack goodies for our minister to distribute to the people he visits. We have had picnics at a local farm and games and pizza evenings for the children to invite their friends to.

GiG (Growing in God) for ages 11-15 years

GiG meets in the church meeting room to study and discuss topics in the light of God's Word. Where there is a need, the GiG people can be found weeding and tidying gardens. They also support "Christmas Box" appeal, and they too enjoy making and serving morning tea to the congregation.

Other activities we are all involved in include the annual "Light Party" which is hosted in our church hall (Campbell Hall); and the Morrinsville Christmas Parade, when we carry the flag for the real meaning of Christmas and enter a Nativity float.

Our church encourages the community to have their children participate in as many activities as possible. We are excited to see them grow and learn the word of God.
